I have had two of these coffee grinders for more years than I can count, although I think it is at least ten. Mine were purchased prior to black being a popular kitchen color. One is used for grinding coffee, the other flax seeds, etc.(this one was really purchased as a back-up in case the first one "died" one morning). So far they are both working perfectly. I can't imagine spending more for a coffee grinder - these are very sturdy and do a superb job of grinding the beans. I use it every morning and sometimes again in the evening. Everyone loves my coffee, but we will give credit to the freshly ground beans, not the grinder!
